Whats happening in 2025:
We are looking forward to some more great courses in 2025
We are looking forward to bringing back the opening day Links fixture in 2025
2025 is our 12th season as a society! We will be holding the Summer Cup across the weekend of the 12th/13th July, so get it in your diaries.
We have kept the rule changes implemented from 2020, which are outlined below. But first,
The 2024 Champioship Table:
Every society competition will be Stableford format
Handicaps will be based on the following:
For every point you score over 31, your handicap will be cut by 0.3 per point. However, the maximum cut for players with a handicap from 12-15 inclusive is 1 stroke. The maximum cut for a player who has a handicap below 12 is 0.6
For a score below 28, your handicap will be increased by 0.1 per point, the maximum number of shots gained per game will be 0.5 from 2020. The maximum handicap is 28
Scores between 28 and 31 inclusive will see no change to the players handicap. Players whose handicap is below 12 do not have their handicap cut until they score 36 points. So no change is made for scores between 28-35 inclusive for players with a handicap below 12.
The overall winner of each match will have an automatic 1 shot reduction on top of any other reduction, unless their handicap is 15 or below, as outligned above: 12-15 handicap is a max 1 shot reduction. Max cut below 12 is 0.6
For the purposes of playing, every handicap will be rounded to the nearest integer.
The seasons winner will be cut by 2.5 strokes if their handicap is 15+, and by 1.5 if their handicap is below 15.
If the championship is tied at the end of the season, the winner will be decided on their best 5, then 4, 3, 2 and 1 score for the season. Should there still be a tie, the tied players will play a one hole play off until the player with the lowest gross score is determind.
All committee decisions are final
